{"id":238394,"date":"2020-02-16T12:42:21","date_gmt":"2020-02-16T17:42:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rael.org\/?p=238394"},"modified":"2021-09-26T18:49:41","modified_gmt":"2021-09-26T22:49:41","slug":"human-compost-funerals-better-for-environment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rael.org\/zh-hant\/human-compost-funerals-better-for-environment\/","title":{"rendered":"Human compost funerals \u2018better for environment\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>RAEL\u2019S COMMENT: <\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>Very good!<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>A US firm has given scientific details of its &#8220;human composting&#8221; process for environmentally friendly funerals.<\/p>\n<p>A pilot study on deceased volunteers showed that soft tissue broke down safely and completely within 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>The firm, Recompose, claims that its process saves more than a tonne of carbon, compared to cremation or traditional burial.<\/p>\n<p>It says that it will offer the world&#8217;s first human composting service in Washington state from next February.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking exclusively to BBC News, Recompose&#8217;s chief executive and founder, Katrina Spade, said that concerns about climate change had been a big factor in so many people expressing interest in the service.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So far 15,000 people have signed up to our newsletter.
