Novak Djokovic will “probably not” participate in the first Grand Slam because of the vaccine mandate

RAEL’S COMMENT:
Excellent to see top level athletes refuse the vaccine.

World No. 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic will “probably not” participate in the Australian Open “under the conditions” announced of compulsory vaccination, said Sunday, November 28, the father of the Serbian player. He deplored the “blackmail” of the organizers.

Nine times titled in Melbourne, the last time in February, Novak Djokovic refuses to say whether or not he has been vaccinated against Covid-19. The boss of the first Grand Slam tournament of the year, which will be held from 17 to 30 January, Craig Tiley, had declared last Sunday that the Serb “will have to be vaccinated to play”. For his part, Novak Djokovic announced at the end of October that his decision would be taken “when the conditions are officially known”.

“Of course he’d want to go with all his heart. Because he is a sportsman and because there are many of our compatriots, the diaspora, who would be delighted to see Novak,” said “Nole’s” father, Srdjan Djokovic, on the Serbian channel Prva TV. “But I really don’t know if that will happen. Probably not under these conditions, with this blackmail and then it’s done that way.”
