RAEL’S COMMENT:
Excellent decision!
Yohan Blake, 2011 100m world champion, said he refused to be vaccinated against Covid-19, even if it means missing the Tokyo Olympics this summer.
Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake would rather miss the Tokyo Olympics (July 23-August 8) than be vaccinated. “I’m determined, I don’t want to get vaccinated (against Covid-19),” Blake, 31, told the Jamaica Gleaner . I would rather miss the Olympics than get the shot. ” He did not specify the reasons for this choice.
Blake was crowned world champion in the 100m in 2011 in Daegu (South Korea), taking advantage of Usain Bolt’s disqualification for false start. With a record of 9”69 dating from 2012, Blake was credited with 10”15 last season.
